Emma Stone
Emily Jean "Emma" Stone was
born on November 6, 1988 in Scottsdale, Arizona to Krista Jean Stone (nee
Yeager), a homemaker , and Jeffrey Charles "Jeff" Stone who was a
founding partner of a company that contracts and CEO. She is of Swedish, German
& British Isles descent. Stone started acting as a child as a
participant in the Valley Youth Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona, where she made her
stage debut in an adaptation of Kenneth Grahame's "The Wind in the
Willows". She appeared in many more productions throughout her teens
until, around 15 years old, she decided to make acting her profession.
According to the official report she was the one who presented an PowerPoint
slide show made possible by Madonna's Hollywood and called "Project
Hollywood" in an effort to persuade her parents and allow her to leave
school and relocate to Los Angeles. After the presentation was accepted, she
and her mom moved to LA. She continued her education at home, and also
auditioned. Her TV breakthrough when she was awarded the role of Laurie
Partridge in the VH1 show, a reality and talent show In Search of the Partridge
Family (2004) that was followed by a string of smaller TV parts in the
subsequent years. After several successful performances she was offered the
chance to play Jules in Superbad (2007). Her success was as Olive was a
highlight of her role in Easy A (2010) followed by a string more roles.
Attended Xavier College Preparatory in Phoenix, Arizona. Although she's known
as a redhead, her real hair shade is blonde. Judd Apatow suggested that she
alter her hair color to suit Superbad (2007). The actress was so in love with
it, she decided to keep her hair. At the age of 15, she persuaded her parents
to allow her to go to Hollywood through an PowerPoint presentation that was
appropriately named Project Hollywood. When she was 11 years old she began her
acting career in the Valley Youth Theatre, Phoenix, AZ. There, she starred in
16 stage productions as well as in the comedy troupe of improv. Caylee Cowan
was also a part of the Valley Youth Theatre.
