Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe, born 26 August 2002 is an American musician and singer. The success of "Ransom," his 2019 single, helped him become a major star. The song was part of his first mixtape "We Love You Tecca" (2019) which peaked at the 4th spot on the US Billboard 200. The mixtape also included the singles "Love Me" and "Did It Again". The album he released as his debut called Virgo World (2020), debuted on the Billboard 200 at number 10. It contained the Billboard Hot 100 chart-charting songs "Dolly" and "When You Down". His second mixtape, We Love You Tecca 2, was released in August 2021 . It included "Repeat It" and "Lot of Me". Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was born on August 26, 2002 in the Queens neighborhood of New York City to Jamaican immigrants. Sharpe was born in Queens' Springfield Gardens, and then moved to Cedarhurst on Long Island. Sharpe has always dreamed of being able to join the NBA in his youth but at the age of 12 he decided to pursue a profession in music. Sharpe completed his studies at Lawrence High School. When Tecca was nine years old, he responded to his musical passion by rapping with his friends using his Xbox. They would record diss tracks directed at one another that was uploaded to SoundCloud years ago, but was later removed. At first, he didn't have plans to pursue a music career however, he had a dream of becoming a NBA superstar. Through his middle school years however, he started to lose interest in basketball and took music seriously. His first song to become famous, "Tectri", was made by Lil Gummybear in partnership with Lil Gummybear and released in the early part of 2017. Tecca also dropped "Callin" in the same year, which was one of his first songs. Just a year later Tecca's career started to gain momentum with his hit single "Ransom", which was originally uploaded on Cole Bennett's Lyrical Lemonade YouTube channel on May 22 the 22nd of May, 2019. The track reached the top spot at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It has had more than 90 million Spotify plays and over 300,000,000 YouTube views.
