Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was born at Los Angeles, California on November 18th 1985. Felix's father Paul Felix is an ordained minister of the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. As for her mother, Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix discovered early that she had a talent for running when attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within a short time after her first race, Felix placed second in the 200 meters race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix completed high school in 2003, and was signed by Adidas to become a professional athlete. The following year she enrolled at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix received her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics In Athens Greece. Felix ran 200m in 22.18s which set an all-time junior world record. She was the youngest winner of the 200-meter race in the world championships in Helsinki in 2005. She defended her title the following year, defeating long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix placed consistently in the top 3 in her various events in the Olympics that took place in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
